Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the couple.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started passing more hours together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "one day without joy".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to prevent the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A court order put a embargo on the investigation to limit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the killings, public figures offered divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering controversial claims that were broadly criticized by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the those speaking out last week. Speaking on his show, Rogan labeled the statements as "disturbing" and implied they showed a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an aide should have intervened when the choice to speak on the death was made.
