Declan Rice Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays caused problems. Was given freedom to drift on the left only to be in an offside position when the ball arrived in front of goal. Awarded a deserved substitution after an hour. 6

The star midfielder Functioned in an advanced role out wide and also contributed with dirty work. Displayed flashes of quality and scuffed an effort high. Withdrawn in the closing stages for a teammate, a fellow player, after being booked. 7

The winger Had the team's top opening of the first half, his strike well saved from Thomas Strakosha. With Quansah staying deep, he had to stretch the play out wide but his crosses into the box varied in quality. Replaced with 15 to go. Six

The captain The difference-maker scoring 77th and 78th finishes in an England shirt. The first a typical close-range tap-in while the second an excellent headed goal following a clever run away from the opposition. At 32, he’s only getting better and England are strong contenders in the upcoming tournament with him up top. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play out wide. Had a good opening when set up by the midfielder yet Strakosha kept it out. Rashford produced a bigger effect after coming on. Five
