Analysis has identified that nearly 90 aircraft journeys connected to Jeffrey Epstein are said to have landed at and took off from British airports, with some allegedly transporting British women who assert they were exploited by the found guilty child sex offender.
These aviation records were part of thousands of court documents and papers made public by Epsteinâs estate that have been disclosed over the previous twelve months. The investigation identified 87 aircraft movements tied to Epstein â featuring many that were not previously known â coming into or leaving from British airfields between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Unidentified women were documented among the individuals travelling into and out of the UK. Notably, 15 of these British airport journeys occurred following Epsteinâs 2008 guilty verdict for soliciting sex from a minor.
âThis is âshockingâ that there had never been a âcomprehensive British inquiryâ into his operations in the country,â said American attorneys acting for hundreds of Epstein victims.
A statement from one of the British victims helped convict Epsteinâs associate socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. Yet, that individual has never been contacted by British law enforcement, as stated by her attorney based in Florida.
In a response, the the Met indicated they had ânot received any additional evidence that would support restarting the inquiry.â They commented, âIf new and relevant information be presented to us, encompassing any arising from the disclosure of material in the US, we will assess it.â
A bill to release all files held by the American government in concerning Epstein passed the US Congress last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to adhere to this requirement. A vast number of papers are projected to be made public.
Additionally, a US judge decided last week that the department could publicly release case files from a trafficking prosecution against Maxwell, Epsteinâs long-term associate, who is currently serving a 20-year jail term over the allegations.
