Barcelona Ready for Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
